| Whether your Database
Hosting needs are simple or complex, JNS can provide for your
needs. We provide solutions ranging from simple SQL
storage space to developing complete applications for your
company. We have a turnkey web based Store Front application
that is completely controlled via SQL database and is maintained through web
pages on a secure server. Details of the turnkey Store Front
can be seen by clicking Shopping Demo on the left margin.
The following examples are some of the challenges we have
conquered:
Example 1: Provide
real time processing of single or multiple reservation requests
directly from customers existing software to varying locations
based on the end users address and receive back a confirmation
number from that location. Any request made outside of the
service areas are consolidate and sold to a third party service
organization.
Solution 1: We
developed an application that allowed the customer via the
internet, to send directly to our
database the reservation request, the request is processed and the closest
store location is determined by calculating the distance from the
various locations to the end users address, a request
is then sent to that location where it is automatically entered into
their system, a confirmation is then generated and sent back to
our database, which in turn sends the confirmation back to
requester. Request outside of the service area are tracked
and given to a third party. We email the request to the
third party as well as mantain a database for them.
Example 2: Allow
consumers to get price quotes, create and confirmed reservations
from multiple locations on a secure server via the internet.
Problem, the prices vary at each location depending on date,
availability and length of rental. Create Reservation Center
manned by company personnel located in separate office.
Provide consolidated up to the minute and historical reporting via
the internet of all locations utilization, availability and
revenue. Provide real time reporting of Reservation Center's
current activity. Maintain a centralized Repeat Renter list
at all locations.
Solution 2: We
developed a database that contains each locations availability,
utilization and upcoming reservations as well as historical
databases. The database includes the rules, rates and restrictions to
vary the pricing structure for each location. A master database of all current and Repeat
Renters was developed. We developed a secure web site to allow consumers
to get price quotes and create reservations at any location.
The rental rates are calculated based on the rules and
restrictions for any given location. Upon completion of a
reservation, the information is automatically sent to that
location, the current utilization and availability is recalculated
and sent to the database which records the new figures along with a confirmation number for the
consumer. The consumer is then emailed a confirmation
number, recapping their reservation. When a customer opens
or closes a contract at any location, the database is updated, and
the remaining locations Repeat Renter data is updated. We
developed a secure web application for the Reservation Center. The Reservation Center has full access to the
Repeat Renter file and includes a more detail breakdown of
availability at each locations. It consists of a calendar
with special color coding and notations to the Res Agent to warn
of any conflicting rentals.
The agent simply clicks the in and out dates to create the
reservation. All of the available rates are displayed
for the Res Agent to choose from. Another secure website and
application was created for Management to view current and
historical reports from any location. The rules,
restrictions and rental rates can also be modified for any
location from this site.
Example 3: Provide
remote branches with updated reports and data processed from home
office. Allow remote branches to drag and drop files to other
offices and the home office. Provide for nightly packaging and
transfer of multiple reports from each location days end to the home
office. Allow programmers to remotely update 100's of
programs at branch locations and track receipt of updates and
current versions of programs at each location. Problem, each
location has only a dialup connection to the internet.
Solution 3: We
developed several applications for this one. At each
location we developed a program that allows them to send, receive
and distribute files to their system. This program is
activated by the Windows Scheduler. Typically, a schedule is set
at each location to run the program every half hour during the day
to send and receive files. Prior to the call, the program
zips the packages and waits for the next call to occur. The
Scheduler activates the program which connects them to the
internet, then sends the package to the database to await
delivery, it then requests, receives and distributes any packages
stored in the database for that location. We developed a similar
application for the programmers to package and send lists of files
and destination folders to one or more branch. A file can be
sent to one or more location at a time. The list
updates the database to track the receipt acknowledgement and
current version information.
